The Developing Mother
comprehensive support for mothers
Lactation Counseling
Lactation counseling services are available for mothers and babies--in your home, when you need it most--in partnership with the pediatric practice of Gary Kramer, MD, FAAP and for families across South Florida.
Lactation Counseling Services
Breastfeeding is simple, but not always easy. If you are experiencing difficulty breastfeeding, professional lactation support will help you resolve the issues. I offer services in a two-session series because research shows that one-time professional lactation support is not nearly as effective at solving lactation challenges as is support with follow-up.
During the initial 60-minute visit, I will assess your baby's latch and we will discuss your breastfeeding goals, solutions for your current concerns, and strategies for success.
During the 30-minute follow-up visit, we will address any current concerns and will work together to develop a plan to support you in meeting your goals. Follow-up visits should take place 7-10 days after the initial visit.
Additional Lactation Services
I am available for lactation counseling services whenever you need.
Topics can include:
-
sleep & nighttime feeding
-
introducing solids
-
weaning
-
expressing milk when you're away from baby
-
lactation support in the workplace
-
others as needed
